COUNCILLORS in Hartlepool are urging local people to speak up on proposals to transfer yet more services from the University Hospital of Hartlepool (UHH) to North Tees Hospital in Stockton.

It follows a recent meeting of the Council's Audit and Governance Committee meeting when councillors quizzed hospital health bosses over their plans to transfer emergency medical services and critical care services from Hartlepool to North Tees.

The recommendation was made by the National Clinical Advisory Team (NCAT) who was commissioned by the hospital health trust and the clinical commissioning group (CCG) to undertake the review.

A public event will be held in Hartlepool as part of the consultation at Hartlepool's Maritime Experience (formerly Hartlepool Historic Quay) on Wednesday 12 June between 5.30pm and 7.30pm. A similar event is being held at Norton Education Centre on Wednesday 19 June between 5.30pm and 7.30pm.
