Like all craziness it started in the USA but make no mistake it is  'coming to a shop near you' in the near future

Sampling local meeja postings on this issues only confirms my opinion that a good 30% of the population are bat-s**t crazy and proud of it!

Tory MP Sir Desmond Swayne has said forcing people to wear a face covering in shops to prevent the spread of coronavirus is a "monstrous imposition", despite the high death rate among retail workers.........................But Swayne, the MP for New Forest West, complained: "Nothing would make me less likely to go shopping than the thought of having to mask up.''
"Was this consultation with the police force and particularly the chief constable of Hampshire, for it is she that will have to enforce this monstrous imposition against myself and a number of outraged and reluctant constituents?"

No, just idiots on which no party has a monopoly.

Things might slip back slightly and the more controversial gains my be rolled back but the change in perception is permanent. The public mood has changed and the death of George Floyd galvanised BLM which was started in 2013. It is not some overnight movement but has a long history.
lots of people have had to eat their words and have found out that making light of Floyd's death can have dire consequences for their wallet.
Take this wally (Dan Snyder: "We'll never change the name. It's that simple. NEVER — you can use caps."  )who was adamant he would not change his team name:

There are those determined to try and turn the clock back but apart from joining the 'Boogaloo Boys' there is not much they can do.

Wrong - people will only put up with so much. There is no such thing as positive discrimination- only discrimination.

All lives matter and some of these idiots who dropped to their knees every time a camera was pointed in their direction are now reconsidering their actions......or auditioning for game of thrones.

Cue skinhead/riot/enoch/60s YouTube link from our resident fence sitter but no explanation of BLMUKs intention to dismantle the police force?

You move forward 10 steps and have to take 3 steps back, that is still 7 steps forward.

'Taking the knee' has become the norm. if the USA has belatedly  recognised the gesture and admitted their initial opposition was a mistake then  there is hope the local neanderthals will one day see the light.

https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/taking-a-knee-national-anthem-nfl-trump-why-meaning-origins-racism-us-colin-kaepernick-a8521741.html

The NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said late on Friday that the league's earlier ban on players taking the knee had been mistaken. "We were wrong for not listening to NFL players earlier, and encourage all to speak out and peacefully protest," Goodell said.

I wonder how the rest of the world sees this issue?  Maybe they can take a positive lesson from it?

Test cricket's public endorsement of 'Black Lives Matter' during the England-West Indies Test is a moment of reckoning..............Earlier this week, former West Indies cricketer Michael Holding and Ebony Rainford-Brent, the first Black woman to play for England, delivered a powerful message on racism during the broadcast of the opening Test of a three-match series between England and the West Indies, delving deeply into racism and their personal experiences with it throughout their commentary.............................It was a powerful moment for a sport that began in conquered lands as an exclusive privilege of the British and then became a tool to prove the racial superiority of the colonisers over the colonised. Little did the Imperialists know just how passionately their game would be embraced by their colonial subjects..............The general consensus, it seems, is that the lack of professional players from the Dalit community in the one sport that enjoys mass appeal across almost all parts of India, is not worth looking into. Will international cricket's show of solidarity for BLM and the conversation around racism also trickle down to localised prejudices, like in the case of caste in India?..

Well that depends on you view point. Those of us who have the cojones to have an opinion rather than continuously harp on about irrelevant issues might disagree.....
