Several Hartlepool statues and 'art works' must surely be being reviewed regarding their 'social acceptability' in these days of outrage.
Fears of rampaging mobs with pitchforks and burning torches have been replaced by 'enlightened' but eternally affronted groups clutching their mobiles and coffee cups( fair trade I hope) sharing their wisdom with us and educating us out of our ignorance.

The threatened works are.....

1. The Watcher.....that sinister symbol who lurks in the shadows near the Gray Art Gallery where he continually monitors those passing by, symbolising the actions of a facist informer. This oppressive bastion of control must be toppled

2.The Balls Roundabout..... Beyond contempt. A blatant, yet euphemistic  symbol of male domination over women.

3.William Gray Male Capitalist. Any other redeeming features are irrelevant. Nuf said!

4. Ralph Ward Jackson As above.
To the smelter with him.

5.Andy Capp Male sexist, but in mitigation, unemployable.
Re-educate.

6.That thing at Seaton. If a kaleidoscope and a toilet block holder had a night of unbridled sex, doubtless this would be the outcome.
Therefore, this piece of 'art' ticks all the boxes of the arbiters of taste, so will survive.
