Anyone seen the programme where all human life ceases on one day and the effects on the physical structures, logging the consequences as they all eventually collapse without human care and maintenance?
While the 'lost tribe' have wandered off into the wilderness a wailing and a whining, the legacy remains. Splashing the cash on their pet projects and crazy sense of arrival jibber jabber, mightn't the money have been better spent spread across the town? All well and good slapping your own back over your fancy dan safety barriers, when bang ordinary barriers in the town have been left unpainted and damaged for years, yet no one seems to notice the startling neglect.
The wild flowers craze, quickly seized as 'Labour's Wild Flowers' was the kiss of death when as main roads into town after a couple of weeks brief blooming become giant jungle weed beds for months afterwards. I've travelled extensively over the North of England for quite a few years and seen nothing more embarrassing than driving down the A689 to be greeted by central reservation eyesores which are quite frankly third world.
The whole town is starting to look a bit tired, will things start afresh now?
Last question, what the hell is going on at Jackson's Landing, a giant jigsaw?
What can be asserted without proof,
can be dismissed without proof.

I think they are transforming Jackson's Landing from a large concrete block into a large paved concrete block.

Completely agree with this also being a traveller around the north east.
The jungle mess of the north hartlepool had it's annual tidy up trim back and revealed even more of a mess of discarded litter or rubbish blown from the myriad of rubbish trucks that descend through town for recycling companies close to town centre. The sight of old decayed fencing, lampposts and barriers a great feature too if it is seen through the jungle.

Everywhere seems to be like a jigsaw of vanity projects where a bid has been won for cash and suddenly needs spending on a path to nowhere that requires another grant to finish it off in yet another style or current design fad. Multicoloured random block paving seems to be the great fad at the mo which the local companies seem to have bought in masses of.

The so called 'arrival' area is nearly completed, but just looks like a still unfinished windswept patchwork quilt of the old and new and hard to define which is which.
A somehow unflattering, but fitting reminder of the wilderness years.
What can be asserted without proof,
can be dismissed without proof.

I really hope the powers that be have realised that the wild flower beds have been well and truly done to death, I realise insects, butterfly's, bees etc have benefited from them but after flowering they quickly become an eyesore, they need to have a rethink about the matter.
