The... er, 'improvements' in Stockton Street continue apace with the arrival of the 'take your breath away' traffic barriers, yes, traffic barriers, metal traffic barriers ::)
These curving masterpieces are supposed to let visitors know they've 'arrived'. I assume the driver of the vehicle using the road system, sat nav, map book etc will have realised where they are long before then.
The odd thing is, these new barriers have huge gaps between each level and oddly are horizontal, this would allow a child to slip through quite effortlessly. They also act as an handy ladder as I witnessed,  for crossing Stockton Street. A lot of money was spent in the 90's to build the Great Wall of Hartlepool as it was called at the time to cure a problem and it looks like it could be coming back.
Stockton Street could end up looking like a bannister where only a third of it was painted and the rest ignored
What can be asserted without proof,
can be dismissed without proof.
