Too many hoops!

So - we have to sign in using our username and password, but before we can post a message or reply we have to solve a Capcha and answer three questions. It seems a little over the top. Is there a reason for this? I probably wouldn't even mention this (the questions are easy enough but since contracting macular degeneration I'm finding Capchas infuriatingly difficult. This might discourage others who would like to participate in the forum, and I myself have limited time left to be able to cope with these visual obstacle courses.

The capchas disappear after you have made 3 posts. They are there initially to thwart computer robots which otherwise would flood the forum with fake registrations that post adverts.
