Unbelievable. It is stated that our specialist forces may be sent into Nigeria to fight Boko Haram and obtain the release of the schoolgirl hostages.
WHY?
It is a Muslim country and Boko Haram are Muslims, so why are we getting involved in killing more Muslims in their own country?

Quite apart from the potential of loss of life to our nearest and dearest, we can't afford to be policing the world's fanatical pond life.

They're all Muslims, let a Muslim country send THEIR special forces into Nigeria. Saudi Arabia/Pakistan/Egypt all have the money and forces to deal with the issue. It is not our fight.
If our troops go in and kill 25%--50% of the pond life you can imagine the outcry from their 'brothers' in this country!

We are still paying the price for Blair's war mongering in Iraq & Afghanistan, let's not repeat his calamitous incursions.

That would be fossil fuel rich Nigeria would it?

Muslims, muslims, muslims............

Ok let's ditch the hysterics..... and now, reality.

Firstly, Nigeria has a slight majority of Christians in its population.

A December 2012 report on religion and public life by the Pew Research Centre stated that in 2012, 49.3% of Nigeria's population was Christian[126] 48.8% was Muslim,[127] and 1.9% were followers of indigenous and other religions, or unaffiliated.

Secondly, there is no talk whatsoever of British forces being sent to Nigeria

Some people see Muslims where small bears see heffelumps and weasals.........

Diplomatic double-speak.
Both the UK ( Hague) and the US (Obama) have stated it it an outrageous act by a terror organisation that we will do all we can to support the Nigerian Govt. Hague refused to answer when asked if UK special forces would be involved. (For obvious reasons).
Like those that attack anyone that questions 'global warming', one isn't allowed to use the word 'Muslims' without some hackles raising.
The point is, the fanatics ARE 'Muslim' and have made the North-East of Nigeria a no-go area for up to 10 years.
I believe we WILL go in and will suffer the inevitable backwash in this country. (As we have done over Iraq & Afghanistan).
Time will tell.
This has nothing to do with Muslims in general (despite the undercurrent in your post). It is simply stating we should not be trying to be the world's policemen, when countries around Nigeria could easily put a stop to the atrocity.

The UK & US are giving assisting the Nigerian government with intelligence & military advice. There has been no mention of British or American boots on the ground to help rescue the 200 SCHOOLGIRLS that have been abducted.
