Can anyone help is there a place in town where old archive of the mail is kept so you can browse through,looking between 1955 to 1970.

To Stokoe ........ yes. Back copies of the Mail have been placed on Microfiche (hope spelling is OK ) and available to view at the Central Library Reference dept. It helps if you can state the period you want as it can be time consuming. Not to long ago I looked at some relating to the mid 1960's so they are there to be seen. I am unable to say how far they go back.   Good luck. NES.
