I understand Cllr Alan Barclay, Hartlepool Councils Armed Forces Champion was heard to tell Jason Anderson (Director of Radio Hartlepool) to 'F**k' off in the Royal Navy Club today.
Apparenty Jason had ask Barclay how he was and was meet by a vitriolic response with the slurred words, 'F**k Off' and asking Jason 'is this being recorded'. This was on rememberance Sunday and in a very public place. Jason, I understand, was very distressed by the anger shown by Barclay who had been drinking there for most of the afternoon.
I understand a formal complaint will be submitted to Peter Devlin (Borough Solicitor) first thing tomorrow. The Royal Navy Club is where the Mayor - Akers Belcher, Leader of the Council - Akers Belcher and MP Iain Wright complete with 'hangers on' go for refreshments after the rememberance service.
Jason layed a wreath at the Cenotaph on behalf of Radio Hartlepool and has done so for the last 12 years.
What a class act Cllr Barclay is...
I was in Tesco near the library just after he got elected. He came in in a suit and with a briefcase. He was obviously on his way to a council meeting and he went straight for the booze. Bought enough to fill his briefcase and went on his way.
Correct me if I am wrong but was it not inebriate Barclay who issued the threats a year or two back to Radio Hartlepool for being distantly involved with the printers who did the PHF leaflets?
Yes I understand he made a call advising a local businessman to have nowt to do with PHF. It was a clear threat and shows the morality of the man.
In my opinion Barclay was obviously not working on his own and I suspect he was doing the bidding of the Party chiefs.

What a clown, these comments were made by Lord Elpus. Strange how these things always end up being about UKIP. How very very childish. Having a full figure photo of yourself alongside the headline regarding the blocking of homes for veterans the day before Remembrance Sunday is not what I would say was the brightest of ideas, no doubt this will have been engineered by UKIP.

Looking at what the commemoration represented. Yes, the poppies look beautiful and my granddad's fought in the war. One losing a leg in the process, other relatives did not come back.
The ceramic poppies are absolutely beautiful and the whole wave art looks gorgeous.
The only thing I do not like is possible money being spent on it, to help current dignitaries get promotion when really they should be hanging their head in shame.
Women and men, whether they stayed at home looking after the country, homes and the children, or those fighting for it would be disgusted to see the issues coming up time and time again on these threads.
So anyone who did go to the cenotaph, can you honestly say you act with integrity, honestly etc etc in line with the Nolan Principles whilst you laid a poppy wreath. Did you pay for it, or did the tax-payer/people of Hartlepool?
RIP all who died, Shame on you Allan Barclay for swearing at someone like that on this day but shame on others who do the same and then pretend they are victims (though I commend you and urge you to continue with your complaints).
