From the Mail regarding the post of Director Child and Adult Services to be advertised.

Advertising                               £15,000
Cost of Recruitment Agency.      £10,000
Recruitment Consultant.            £ 2,500 Total= £27,500

Cost of Public Inquiry.               £20,000

It will probably be an `inhouse` appointment so why waste all the money,or why dont they put an ad in the Guardian/Telegraph/Times.Surely a lot less than the figure quoted, then again we are a `soft touch` in Hartlepool!!

It does seem rather a lot of money to lay out to find someone for a £110,000 a year job.......

Just a thought, we have managed ok without a director so far, so lets just keep it like it is............ Give the 2 or 3 people who are covering the tasks a £5000 a year rise ( Thats £100 pounds a Week ) & we end up with a net saving per annum of £95,000.

There are too many national horror stories in this area for the council to play cheapskates and didn't the peer group report question the delay?
