What a total mess CAB has got himself into over the local plan and how typical of him to try and off-load his own responsibility by trying to blame some un-named council officer. The story in the Mail is a total misrepresentation of the truth especially when we can all read exactly what was said at the planning meeting ourselves. The plan will not be fully completed in June as it will still have to be referred to the Planning Inspector which will take another 15 months and cost another £80,000 on top of the £266,000 quoted and what's this about conveniently 'forgetting' to include staffing costs to avoid the true costs becoming known?

It has also relaxed the rules of engagement for a while. You may have noticed that every farmer and landowner is now able to apply to build estates on their green fields. Even last week surveyors were seen working on the flood plains of Valley Drive in their quest to build even more houses that are not required.

That planning application was rejected under the old plan. Scrapping it has allowed developers to re-apply - the free-for-all people were predicting. It will be interesting to see where Wells comes down on this one.
