3 years on, the artists impression of Jackson's Landing and the reality of the situation is quite interesting.

No skyscraper, no giant Ferris wheel, no spinnaker style tower, no red arrows, no tall ships, no leisure, retail or commerce.

Just an even bigger blight on the landscape than 3 years ago and the embarrassment of seeing it hawked on e-bay.

I was driving past the Wingfield Castle on Thursday and stopped off to see if it had sunk yet and looked across to the site of the former Jackdons Landing.
What a glorious vista, a tribute to the foresight and genius of our dear leaders not!
There's the barren windswept site now cleared and looking nearly as windswept and deserted as Tumbleweed Junction. Beyond, revealed in all their architectural glory are the waterside flats. Looking like they have been meticulously modelled on an East Berlin housing complex circa 1960. The one redeeming feature of Jacksons Landing being it hid them from sight.
I can only assume the council have installed a stealth Ferris wheel.
