This makes me so angry - once again Hartlepool's most vulnerable residents suffer while HBC blows money like sailors in port. The final insult is charging VAT where others don't!

£90,000 on f***i*g solar powered bins, never mind all the millions wasted on property speculation etc.

How much is the Rifty fun day costing?

I don't believe it.

Exactly.  This is going to have a major impact on those who can least fight back. What price the death of a vulnerable pensioner who couldn't summon help?

Definitely time to strip this shower of S***e of their ward budgets, far better to spend council tax payers money on vulnerable residents than on the self gratification freebies that are now the norm with the usual suspects amongst the LabMob, fun days, free BBQ's and large waste collections are nothing short of vote catching.

Although we do have a member of the council who has a track record of reporting the mis-treatment of vulnerable adults............. Even though he made it up....... what a sad sack of excrement.

So wouldn't part of the 3% precept for Adult Social Care have covered that?

Good point.

The 3% social care precept was spent on the replacement colour carpets for the new independent living centre!

Their priorities bear no resemblance to reality.

Have no fears citizens, I am sure Health Watch will be on to this.............

Someone had better wake them up then.
So will this need to be approved by councillors?

stop it ive just spilt my breakfast  ;D ;D
A councillor is an elected representative of their ward, not their political party!
Councils need communities but communities don't need councils
Party politics have no place in local goverment

Hate to be picky on such a lovely day, but do you mean the 5%(approx.) precept for Adult Social Care ? The 2% already being charged from last year didn't suddenly disappear.

Just look a bit further down on the front page and we have Morton having £358,000 of unpaid business rates written off.

A re-cap from memory:

Morton £358,000
Inspirations Cafe £357,000
ILC Carpets £13,500
Summerhill Cafe £21,000
'Smart' Litter Bins £90,000

I'm sure others can add to the list

£74000 (recurring) increase in allowances
We still have the debt from the quick flip Jackson's Landing - which is now accumulating interest as it didn't flip so quick
