The final versions of the audit reports into Manor Residents and Who Cares (NE) have now been published and will be discussed during a meeting of the Audit Committee on 27th June.

So the council awarded a £680,000 contract to an organisation it now tells us it can give no assurances about. Perhaps it would have been an idea to carry out this audit before giving them such a high value contract and before refusing to consider anyone else.

We have a combination here of corporate negligence coupled with political interference which has led to all semblance of probity being brushed aside for the political and personal gain of a select number of councillors.

Can anyone tell me if this is the first such audit to be carried out on Manor Residents? My understanding is that the organisation has been going for about 8 years which begs the question: isn't it a little late to be finding out that they haven't a clue what they are doing?

Just for info: According to the Manor Residents website (what remains of it), Manor Residents Association was set up in May 1989 so it is now in it's 25th year.

Would a FOI request reveal more about the £40 payment ?

It a request is refused then it probably makes the stink bigger.
I don't believe it.
