Heugh Breakwater, what would we do without it

l just stumbled upon this youtube video about the breakwater and surrounding history. He talks about the importance or the Heugh in keeping the sea out of our town.

There's no glamour in fixing a breakwater, no 'Vision', no publicity, no posing, no bragging rights, it's just one of those mundane, vital things that should be done.
Maintenance, the word that cannot be spoken.
What can be asserted without proof,
can be dismissed without proof.

they will regret it. The bits that come off are landing on Middleton beach, one would probably weigh half a ton. Granted that was in the storm but it shows what you get coming towards the town. When the end of the breakwater is gone we will get all that towards the town. The weather is getting worse.
