This is worth a read. Apparently our share of the 'jobs bonanza' is a trampoline establishment. Presumably, the idea is that if people bounce high enough, they will be able to see the proper jobs in Boro.  ::)

Diplomacy is the ability to tell someone to go to hell in such a way that they look forward to the trip.

No surprise there then. :(

Would it not be cheaper to ask one of the councillors to lie on their back and use their huge gut as a trampoline? A chocolate cake filled trampoline.....

Inspector Knacker

We're in a sorry state when a passing fad amusement is touted as a mjor jobs development. It's a footnote.
The main fruit from the jobs tree is gonna fall south of the river, the amazing thing is the dummies who voted for this shotgun marriage of convenience didn't wonder how things would pan out, again.
The whole Tees Valley thing is like a grove of five houses. One of the households suggests they all pool their money together to make the grove better and are surprised when one household is the recipient of all the money yet carry on paying into the pot.

Hartlepool on the trailing edge again.

Look how far behind we were getting a Costa.
The trampoline fad has been in other towns for a couple of years.

For such a backward town, it is amazing that we are not competing with Beamish.
I guess that is because we knock everything down.

Inspector Knacker

If the town is backward, look to what's leading us and there's your answer. We need dynamic leadership, not people who look like they've won a competition to be a Councillor for a day and won't give the prize back.
What can be asserted without proof,
can be dismissed without proof.

The jobs mirage has to be rated alongside the many Visions that have been touted for Hartlepool by the dysfunctional LabTor Mob, the fact that none have materialised since Drummond first mentioned the Cruise Ship Terminal is testament to the delusional thinking CAB & his 'Team'  are still operating under.

The recent decisions by MD & her committee to introduce parking charges in Seaton & increase charges to allotment holders & at the dump is further evidence of the penny wise pound foolish policies this council operate, they do not know the meaning of being pro-active, virtually everything they actually do, is a re-active option to circumstances they themselves have created.

I beg to differ, Fred. Job Creation has always come easy to the Famous Five, it's just that it chiefly involves job creation for themselves, on their own terms, of course, and likewise for family and friends.

Take, for example, the £20m Tees Valley Youth Employment Initiative, administered by the Economic and Regeneration Department under the auspices of Cranney's chairmanship. You can't have a £20m project without a glossy brochure and, in this case, third on the list of participating organisations is OFCA at Jutland Road.

Here's a summary of what OFCA are allegedly offering:

You will work in a variety of settings to develop activities that will enhance local communities, you will identify, plan and deliver the project giving you pride in what you're achieving and an insight into running your own business.
Outcomes: Develop enterprise skills such as being creative, making decisions, solving problems, working with others. Increase awareness, knowledge and understanding of entrepreneurship. Recognition that self-employment is a viable option. Increase employability through the development of a range of skills. Increase motivation to engage in other forms of learning, utilising equine learning

In case you're wondering what Equine Learning is, it's defined as Personal Development Through Horsemanship

....and there you have it, a twisted path, for sure, but basically involving the redirection of taxpayer's money towards the horsey fetish of wife number 6, and all overseen by Cranney himself as Chairman who has yet to declare any interest.

Diplomacy is the ability to tell someone to go to hell in such a way that they look forward to the trip.

Ahhhhhhhhh something else the 2nd largest party in Hartlepools council chamber can put forward a motion on, the lack of 'Interests' on councillors Register of Interests doesn't seem to 'register' on the Borough Solicitors radar is seems.

There really is a requirment for an indepth audit of the OFCA Jutty Rd UB & Community Farm.......' how on earth it can be considered a farm is beyond most of us.......... it's a bit like someone keeping a few chickens on their allotment

Inspector Knacker

Equine learning ? Hmmm, does this mean we're about to get the contract from Canada to to train self employed Mounties or even a traditional rag and bone person academy to meet demand ? We should be told.
