I would love to see the next voting sheets being full of posters from here so you get truly listened to (obviously if candidates put forward are elected), I know I have suggested Mr Allison do it and I say again to him "go for it", no excuses.

Others on here that I am sure would be good as a Councillor if Postings on here are anything to go by and they dares verbalize their keyboard writings are:  DRiddle/Perseus, Tankerville, SteveL and FredC. Look guys forget paper candidates and all that rubbish, put up and go 100%.

If nothing else it will prove how much notice is taken of Posters on here, good or bad.

DRiddle

I enquired about standing last May but at the time I was a teacher in the authority, and teachers working in the authority aren't allowed to be councillors. (Except in academies).

However, now I work in the private sector outside of Hartlepool, so i'm allowed.

I've tried to be a bit more than a keyboard warrior and i've asked the odd question in council meetings and things.  :-X

Can't speak for Perseus though...  ::)

Missy K

Thats great that you can now stand.

I think the same election rule should apply to people in management roles in charities that are funded by the Council or charities applying for funding or contracts from the Council.

As for not being able to speak for Perseus, suggest to him next time you can that he too has no tie up with the authority now.

In all seriousness its great banging on about stuff on here or even asking the odd question, but what will really shape things is if Posters on here get elected as a Councillor.

David, sorry I didn't ask the question and wondered if you would go as an independent and use the power of the party: putting Hartlepool first ?

David/Perseus Just to clarify I asked the  question about putting Hartlepool first as the do seem to be gathering steam (a bit of clout to us commoners) well on here anyways, so they have a bit of a head start to just being a lone Independent, do you know what I am getting at?

Something dodgy about some of these posts. How does Missy K know perseus is now ok to stand for election?.Didn't she(?) also say that she had sussed out who Kipperdip was.Vary Intelesting.

The problem here is that there is no connection with the local people. I intend to stand for council when the time is right. But, that will only be after all the work is done on the ground over a period of time, i.e knocking on doors. Until people actually see who they are voting for how can you expect them to put a X in your box.

Some serious profile raising (just like Shane is doing in the local rag) will certainly help along the way.

No I never said anything about Kipperdip or who ever, it was Tankerville that I referred to, I really dont have a clue as to who kipperdip is.

As for me mentioning Perseus and suggesting David speak to him because he can now stand for election is simply because I have grown to guess that DRiddle and Perseus are the same person.

I dont wish to name any more folk on here that I am guessing (yes guessing) true identities as that is not what I want by putting posts on this site. I would spoil things for everyone including myself as I too chose to be anonymous.

For what it's worth, I've been a member of PHF for over a year or so. I like the concept of a local party that isn't constrained or dictated to by the national parties.

I had reservations when it appeared that there was affiliation to UKIP, but overall I see the national political affiliation of PFH members as being broadly irrelevant, so long as the right decisions are made concerning local issues.

I also recognise the 'collective strength' of essentially tying together the independents under one umbrella, in order (if numbers grow) to provide a meaningful opposition to the crowd who pretend to be Labour.

There's a lot I have to learn and I recognise that, but I've spent ten years+ working to help people via teaching, and now I'm involved in a management position which also involves managing people, large budgets, making key decisions, but in a role which still has 'helping other people' at it's core.

In most towns that experience and background would make me a decent candidate to be a councillor.

However, regrettably in Hartlepool, it probably makes me over qualified.  ;)

I'd be tempted to stand for Burn Valley if the opportunity presented itself though, as a matter of principle as much as anything else.

I don't really want to get bogged down with the whole 'who is Perseus?' 'Who is Kipperdip?' thing. Again, i'd say it's largely irrelevant. There are a lot of people (including various members of the local Labour Party) who, i'm told, are convinced that Perseus is Jonathan Brash.

A more interesting question, in my opinion, is "Who is Joe Hudson?". He seems to know a bit about what's going on.

Finally, a little tip for ARC86. If you want to raise your profile take some advice from William Wallace...

The question for our dear leaders is what do they stand for? Are they Socialists or Capitalists? Unfortunately the Labour Party has been taken over by Blairites and no longer represents the base on which it is founded.

That said i'm still a fully paid up member, but say as i feel not as i'm told, as i'm sure people can tell from my brief time on this site.

I agree also on your point that you are probably over qualified, i feel the same  ;) but it does appear that if you have no links with the public sector then the Labour Party in Hartlepool is no longer is of use to you.

Lets be honest there is an awful lot of talent in this town that is not being put to use because of the whole rotten system of politics. Is it any wonder people are apathethical when they feel nobody at all represents them!

Finally if i did pick a fight, i wouldn't lose! I think the following quote is relevant today as sadly it is lacking in the Local Labour Party.

"It is better to lead from behind and to put others in front, especially when you celebrate victory when nice things occur. You take the front line when there is danger. Then people will appreciate your leadership." NELSON MANDELA

Unfortunately we have seen what happens when people who believe in the old labour values speak out, as in the case of Brash and Hargreaves. We have to be careful that all labour councillors are not tarred with the same brush and we lose good councillors as the ones i've named.I think there is something terribly wrong when someone (ARC86) cannot stand for the party he  obviously believes in due to a few bent people.

The problem with the good councillors in the Labour Group is that they have refused to stand up to Plain Old Simple Bullying, by doing nothing the good councillors are about as much use a 1 Legged Man In An Ar*s Kicking Contest.

The bullying doesn`t stop with councillors, one of the biggest problems within the council set up is the Bullying of Officers by certain councillors, how often is the cry "It`s Not Good Enough" heard in the corridors of the civic ???

We already have an example of what happens to you if you stand firm against "The Mob" where were the so called good councillors when the Who Cares contract was dished up on a plate for wilcox & cranney ??? where are they now when a working woman is being forced to take out an enforcement notice against MRA to try & get her money ???why haven`t any of them called for a police inquiry into the scandalous accounting & business antics of MRA & WC ???

If any of the "good councillors" wanted to prove they are good councillors............ lets see them walk across the council chamber at the next full council meeting.

Don`t expect any sudden movements on the 25th.
