HBC are currently thinking about placing a Parking Charge on the Historic Quay parking area & also bringing in "Parking Controls" in Maritime Avenue.

A different slant on the parking situation.

The parking charges could greatly affect the farmers market and any other plans to use the space.

Personally I already avoid the town centre as much as I can because of the parking charges.
I don't believe it.

Looks like common sense has (for once) prevailed!

I wonder how much it cost ito nstall all the Parking Permit Signs, white lines and ticket machine outwith the town centre. To me the Council were trying to make people park in the Town Centre Car Parks. the Multi Storey Park is empty for most of the day.
How much money do the Council actually make on the Parking after the Wardens are paid Maitenance Charges deducted etc ?
Middlesbrough introduced free parking recently, visitors to the area doubled.

They will lose the income from parking round the Mill House area when, and if the regeneration plan starts. They must be looking for alternatives.
