Church St should be re-named....p*ssheads paradise, what a sad end for such a nice place

People should realise that not a long time ago it was a place of banks, consulted even, solicitors, local businesses supplying everything from chandlery to any number of services that persisted into the 70's, but the demolition of Lynn Street began the sad decline. That 60's utopia of multi story car parks, dual carriageways punching through town centres and 'shopping centres were the symbols of progress in the eyes of many councils in the North East. Thankfully we escaped the scourge of tower blocks. I remember my dad recalling laughing at comments by one Labour Councillor in  Geordieland, positively beaming at the new tower blocks at the time saying they made the area look like the New York skyline.
There is no creature on the planet more dangerous than a Councillor on a self promoting Legacy trip. You really worry when they erect a statue to themself with your money.
