Maybe SAB would like another go? If he keeps on going (and he loved the outfit) he could ultimately end up like 'My Brother Sylveste ... a row of forty medals on his chest'.  ;)

What I quite don't understand here is the donning of gongs is normally associated with pomp and ceremony - I can't recall much pomp or ceremony around the donning of these particular gongs.

Does this mean that ex Ceremonial Cook also received such an adornment - or wasn't he in favour?  Personally I think he should have been given one for his skill in displaying utter contempt towards the opposition (Tories excepted) councillors
