Title: Banning Alcohol in the Civic.
Post by: seaton on March 25, 2019, 05: PM
The Council are always trying to promote healthy living plus in what other organisation would there be alcohol served free of charge.
Companies nowadays have a very strict alcohol and drugs policy and no organisation would be giving free alcohol away during business hours.

I agree alcohol during work hours is not allowed however, a lot of modern businesses offer free alcohol in certain areas for networking and socialising after work for a moderate amount of time.

I've spent time in London and Amsterdam lately at offices that provide free beers after 4pm..

We have Councillors who have voted themselves a pay rise and increased the Council Tax why should we be 'rewarding' them with free alcohol ?

Reading the article, seems to me that SAB, for one, is showing a pretty strong sense of entitlement.

Might I respectfully suggest we keep the alcohol and ban some Councillors.

Will it be free at the next 'Hartlepool Show', aka the Rifty Fun Day at the Rec?  If people and/ or HBC Councillors want an alcoholic drink when socialising, then why not pop down to a local pub/ bar.  Goodness knows, there's plenty next to the Civic!

Someone tell me they aren't going to repeat that embarrassment again?
Not so much Hartlepool Show as Hartlepool Shown Up.
