Where have all the UKIPPERS gone?

Land Phil

Will we see Philip Broughton or for that matter Richard Royal in Hartlepool ever again.

craig finton

Broughton moved into a flat on the Marina.

Marky, all quiet from UKIP rumour has it Driddle and Eric Wilson may have made some deal or at least they have been in discussions! Maybe one or both have the answer you seek.

The only possible 'deal' between PHF and UKIP would be for the former to offer the latter some leaflets on locally run literacy and numeracy classes.
Diplomacy is the ability to tell someone to go to hell in such a way that they look forward to the trip.

DRiddle

Keep up Tom. I've already said I spoke with Eric briefly on election night. Just general political chit chat. To be honest PHF are reasonably happy with our showing on the 7th/8th.

4,000+ votes from 8 wards for a party still in it's political infancy. 6 victories at the local ballot boxes since we started, new members. Lots of public support, we're doing better than UKIP in terms of winning ward seats on our own.

Note the complete inability to answer a straight question as to  Farage  standing again for leader. It seems  certain now that the 'resignation' of Farage is a complete con and  he will be soon be back in control. Makes no odds. UKIP can exert no influence at all over Cameron because they had their chance and the public backheeled them.
The claim UKIP will  replace Labour because they better represent the working man is crazy. Delusion has taken over!

The Libs will bounce back (they always do) so the  notion UKIP can only increase its vote is not backed by the history of all the  recent (last 50 years)'new' political parties.

Mk1 I am quite happy to answer your questions re Nigel Farage, what is it you dont understand in one Nigel F standing down as leader of UKIP, he has done so. Socialism rules OK, MAYBE in the words of Arnold S, I'LL BE BACK, who knows, get your mum to tuck you in

Only because he was so confident he was going to win and thus never expected to have to go. Now that reality has dawned he is doing everything in his power to  get 'his ' party back. He never intended to relinquish command and every trick  in the book will be used in order to save face and get him back in charge. Typical two-faced politician who  could not lie straight in bed.

UKIP are a busted flush. No matter how hard you scream shout and stamp your feet the reality is the nation rejected you and you have no leverage at all over Cameron. He called your bluff and UKIP were creamed at the election. You are not as popular as you thought you were.  The polls put you on 12% and that was what you got.  Remember how you were all saying your real numbers were in the 20% mark?

Mr.E

We can argue about polls till the cows come home, all of them were proved wrong!

When the SNP thought they could lock the tories out and get labour in, they didn't realise the lock was on the other side of the door! So it worked against Labour for that.

Then there is the point that people are starting to realise that the those who are Blair's Labour and Miliband's Labour are champagne socialites who speak with an estuary accent and would want nothing to do with the working man or woman and want nothing to do with them!

In fact it is those who are the self same people who claim to know better who never connect with the people who they claim to represent, are the ones who call people racists and bigots!

As regards Nigel Farage, even he isn't sure if he will stand for a leadship contest(exactly what John Major did while PM!) BUT! he came back the last time after the person who had taken over  UKIP had done UKIP in badly! There are now others who may or may not want to step in to the roll but that is for September and to see who is will to atleast try!

MK1 to answer your question, Nigel said he would stand down if he wasn't elected, in thanet, he did so, whether he stands again is an ather matter, another time. The point being for you is in Hartlepool did you vote for, PHF, Independents etc, thats political, thats Freedom, fought for died for. Be careful who you vote for.

You are  just making excuses for a lying two-faced politician.
Normally in situations like this I would  make some reference to Orwell and doublethink (The power of holding two contradictory beliefs in one's mind simultaneously, and accepting both of them... To tell deliberate lies while genuinely believing in them, to forget any fact that has become inconvenient, and then, when it becomes necessary again, to draw it back from oblivion for just as long as it is needed, to deny the existence of objective reality and all the while to take account of the reality which one denies )

but the concept would be lost on someone who talks as if he is Stanley Unwin!

On the subject of talks/future co operation between PHF and UKIP; I think it would be a huge mistake on UKIP's part to have anything to do with PHF, now or in future.  I've made my thoughts known to both David Riddle and Eric Wilson.

With 3.8 million votes nationally and UKIP not only coming second against Wright, but also in most Hartlepool Wards they stood in, they have proved themselves to be a far more credible force locally than PHF ever can be.

I'm convinced the UKIP votes will continue to rise; especially as we now have a Tory Government without the LibDems to apply the brakes now and then.  The electorate will get mega pis*ed off when:

1. Even meaner cuts are applied to the welfare state - (they really are The Nasty Party)

2. The promised in/out referendum becomes a farce when Brussels tells Cameron where to go

For UKIP, the future is very bright indeed
