The Hospital Trust has another bit of PR spin in The Mail tonight telling us all of the rapid progress being made towards a new hospital. There is still no clear announcement that the funding is in place - just another reference to the hope that the Trust will be able to borrow the money off a pension fund.
The most important paragraph in The Mail story is this one:
"Chief Executive Alan Foster said progress with the new hospital project will allow it to push ahead with other service transformation under the Momentum: pathways to healthcare programme."
So you create the impression that the new hospital is a done deal and now travelling on an obstacle-free road - thereby allowing you to push ahead with removing yet more services from Hartlepool Hospital.
I doubt if there is a more cyncial Hospital Trust operating anywhere else in the UK.
