Title: Council Tax rise propaganda ramps up

Expect a lot more of this over Christmas and the new year as CAB paves the way for virtually the maximum council tax rise allowed.

The council is skint. . . just not skint enough to rip up brand new carpets, fund all the councillors pet projects, and vanity projects and waste millions.  Oh and let's not forget the elephant in the room. That being, the absolutely huge contract that was ultimately awarded to an organisation co-founded by Angie Wilcox and Kevin Cranney. Not spin, fact.

While the council may well have suffered cuts under 'austerity', how has it affected councillors income from the authority? Would two comparable graphs show council income falling, but what would the coincillors graph for income show?
Compare and contrast.

Chris, you deluded little man.... What do you know of austerity? How has it affected you directly? You don't represent the town's best interests, so please don't try and pretend that you are...

If you want to make a stand against austerity, then maybe you should consider giving up your cozy allowances and diverting them towards the public pot. That's possibly the only thing you could do right now that would make me even consider changing my opinion about you, but you won't ever do that will you....?

Slowly but surely, the voting population are starting to wake up and realise who and what you really are......

It isn't enough just CAB going, in the last 6 years he has had the full support of 19 other labour councillors in that time, they have raised their hand and voted yes to all of the decisions taken by this council.

Looking back at those decisions they are more unbelievable now than they were at the time, £680,00 given to Wilcox and Cranneys WCNE followed by £280,000 the following year.

There was the MRA scandal.....not one word of concern or criticism by the LabMob, how much did thay little business swallow up in public money.

They also took the decision on the how to invest in a loss making business and even when it was losing money hand over fist, they kept at it..... £77,000 down the pan.

So, people really do need to understand it wasn't all down to the dear leader, he had help from SAB, MD, Cranney, Lindridge, Beck, Barclay, Cook, Doc Pothole, Mammy Belcher, Richardson, Thomas, Trueman.

The whole lot of them have taken a full part in the costly visions and masterplans, vanity and ego driven projects......the town needs shot of the lot of them.

Couldn't agree more Fred c.

And don't forget that the Labour Cabinet of Mayor Drummond's last budget was not allowed to vote for it despite the fact that it was their budget ! Another case of the Party first and everything else is subordinate. ☝️👎 to the town and its residents.

No need to ask who the leader was although he hadn't been elected as such at that point.

CAB is the gilded figurehead on a political, rusting dredger that's lost a course it never had.
His crew keep him in office, so are just as big a part of the problem.
However, if they all go, another gormless regiment of Party wannabe's will pop up like Meerkats sniffing for the opportunity to be 'world famous' in Hartlepool.
As long as the Party comes first, local democracy loses.

These will soon all be gone, a bit similar to flushing a toilet...

The Labour vote has weakened no question about it, and certainly the votes towards new independents/ex ukip has grown and will likely keep growing as long as the current shambles continues as it is, I do wonder what would happen to those independent/ex ukip votes if Dave Hunter eventually emerged as leader?

Who would lead a council with no overall control anyway? The independents and other smaller factions would not, as it is almost a given that council tax is going to rise, services will no doubt have to be cut, regardless of who is in power and would be against the majority of their campaigning material.

All conjecture & mostly drivel but still has to be considered.

Some of those may well be "Gone", but not all of those mentioned will, people are fed up to the back teeth of party politics in Hartlepool, whoever take the places of the self servers for labour will still put their party first.

As for the constant pokes at Ex-Ukip, now Independent (The Member couldn't resist it in his latest propaganda release)......personally I don't give a flying fandango who councillors used to represent (the 3 Tories Voted with Labour on virtually every motion).....I want my councillors to put the town first, second and third.......we haven't had that under the LabTor coalition.

We have had a labour mp for over 50 years and in that time Hartlepool has become a deprived backwater, even when we had the second most powerful politician in the country representing the town we didn't move forward.......It's time we considered a marginal member of parliament.

Sadly both the main Party's realised that one was safe as houses and the other was wasting their time even considering contesting the seat.
Then, they saw who was elected to run the council and decided the electorate were beyond help.
