Posting pic's etc.

Can anyone advise me how to add pics etc to your posts.Do i need to download any software?.At the moment i can't even add a smiley face.Thanks in advance.

You don't need any additional software - one easy way is to just click on the attachments box under the text box (at the bottom left hand side) - also,  if you can't add the smileys in your original post they can often be added in the preview field!
