The usual fanfare as the latest in a long-line of clean-ups is announced. This time it is '100 eye-catching new signs'
Obviously all the previous campaigns failed so in all how much has been flushed down the pan on these signs over the years and what do they do with the old signs? Are they left in place so that we end up with 4-5 different style of signs on every lamp-post?

Like migrating birds, at regular intervals, they appear to promote their latest take on dog dirt. Posing like a motley group of misshapen rejected catalogue models they pout to the camera with a worrying grimace.
I suspect it has more to do with keeping their image in the public eye by taking no chances and chaining themselves to any topic that surely everyone agrees with. A foolproof strategy under most circumstances, however their classic features just come across as a 'Oh no not then again' turn off.
Top & bottom of the dog mess situation is it is prevalent all over the town, all areas are affected by it, spending money on yet more signs is a waste of time, however wasting the money is something they are experts at.
There aren't enough dog wardens simple as that......If they want to make a difference they should blitz areas of the town with council employees in ordinary street cloths and hammer the owners of dogs that have shat and they have not picked it up............£250 fines
I feel sure council operatives could be trained very quickly in how to spot an offence and to issue the appropriate punishment.

Katie won`t be quite so fawning after the SCABS have departed, the HCLP with give her the elbow and Jason will be left to do the sucking up on his own.... I suspect he will manage with no bother.
