A few weeks after the elections Jean Robinson has resigned. So now that's more money organising the by-election.

This will be the first indicator of the publics feelings about the HIU teaming up with the Tories and the Akers-Belcher clan.

They may of asked her to resign to test the water, as David says the publics feelings.

1 thing is for certain, there will be an awful lot of Tom Kite thrown around and the majority of it can be expected to come from the Corbyn Pixies.

Well, to all intents and ourposes that ward's been running with only two councillors for ages. Might the HIU prefer to concentrate on their first term in coalition rather than trying to increase numbers at this stage? Who knows? What would be really interesting is to see whether Ms. Kendon repeats her (unsuccessful) offer of zero allowances should she be elected, as - once again - there's not too many months to play with after the by-election process has been trundled out.

The Akers-Belcher herd are like political plutonium. Have no contact and don't get it on your clothes or your political career will also enter a terminal nose dive.

I am guessing the name of the game is keeping your head down and not making any mistakes to establish the brand. If a GE is coming the IU will campaign as part of Farage's UKIP Mk II and the last thing they want at this stage  is any form of defeat at the Ballot Box. Watch for a candidate who is essentially one of them but far enough removed that they can deny any connection if they lose.

It's what they do, they know no other way. Expect a rapid re-writing of history to done without a blush in sight.

No one 'blushed' when CAB was allowed back into the game or when the Tory stranglehold on planning was allowed to continue.

Well they should have. I was going to call the new shower and the resultant fiasco a sign of naivety, but it isn't, because this union of the damned was walked into with eyes wide open and is an affront to the electorate. The Tory's will hitch their wagon to whoever's in power, if indeed they ever were Tory's. Allowing the 'Party of Opportunity' a say in anything other than one lump or two is intolerable and I fear has plunged local politics to a new low of confusion. Where we go from here is anyone's guess, it's a mess. A tawdry, sorry state of affairs that seems incomprehensible.
They a snatched shabby defeat from the jaws of victory.

Despite all the hype Farage and UKIP Mk II failed again last night. Those who think Labour  & The Conservatives are finished should remember Zimmerman's words from 1964:

don't speak too soon
For the wheel's still in spin
And there's no tellin' who
That it's namin'.
For the loser now
Will be later to win
For the times they are a-changin'

mr zimmerman at his best  8)
A councillor is an elected representative of their ward, not their political party!
Councils need communities but communities don't need councils
Party politics have no place in local goverment

Only trouble with those lyrics is.... I always assumed the 'wheel still in spin' was a casino wheel.....and the house always wins.😏

Except when Trump is 'The Hose'.  The only man  lost money running a Casino!

Hmmmm.. he may well have been, but he ain't short of a bob or two despite it, but the others in the business always win. Never ever got gambling.
