In Cumbria this week and have noticed that line down the coast from to Preston (via Barrow) to Carlisle has nice shiny new rolling stock. Very nice indeed and provided by the same company as operate our hourly services..... but we appear to have rather tireder shabby trains. But then we always have done.

Second class citizens? Accepting the crumbs? We had what I called the 'tiddly piddly' four wheelers long after they were mothballed elsewhere.

They get away with it because no one hereabouts has the brains, stamina and determination to challenge these things, that's how we lost our hospital services, courts and haunted house police station.
Dog dirt, anto social behaviour  and skips for the masses are the limit of their horizons.
We don't stand a chance really do we?

It is, because being so poorly represented at both national and local level by the incapable and indifferent for decades,  we just accept it as the norm. That's the problem.
