Another 'Vote for me sheet' this morning has popped though the letterbox.
It's for the local elections this time and after 'taking it green over the bows' so to speak trying to make headway through the treacle of words I encountered, I realised that in this case, they had very little to actually offer.
The prospective candidate apparently held STRONG VIEWS ON the following topics......

1. Fly tipping.
2. Anti social behaviour.
3. Dog fouling.

Now while these may be part and parcel of a local Councillors lot, they highlight the poverty of ambition for the town itself if that's the best they can come up with.
They promote the banal and everyday to the status of the three subjects to generate 'STRONG VIEWS' on, really....? The town will continue wallowing along if these are the burning issues of those who offer to lead us.
By the way, if our local MP should be local, can it apply to Councillors too. I'd like to see it law that a Councillor reside in the ward they represent.
What can be asserted without proof,
can be dismissed without proof.

Agree completely.
The Morons seemed to have gone but so have the normals.....
