It might be worth remembering  that this  was the sea Shane swam in. This Councillor was  a 5 times banned violent football hooligan, boasted of his drug dealing  and made no secret of his attempt to bury a pigs head in the foundations of the Mosque on Brougham Terrace . Despite these shocking admissions (the original film shows two party officials being told about it) nothing was done about it and it was only deemed a problem when the newspapers got on to it that is when  the pearl-clutching faux outrage began.
