A new £10m Bridge, new Trunk Road and a new Marina.

No it's not the phantom bridge between Irvins Quay and the Headland or a relaunch of Hartlepool's stalled Marina development. It's all about Middlesbrough and making in the heart of Teesside City.

But then, didn't we always know it was

So, the spend begins. The idea of a marina is pushing it though, sail your boat down the river past all that industry before you get anywhere near the sea, assuming you don't get ran over by the larger river traffic. Probably a poncey showboat place in the dock with Tupperware cabin cruisers for posing purposes.

Cmon...... we all knew this was going to be the case, I say we, by that I mean anyone with even a modicum of common sense realised that the focus would be on Smogsville, unfortunately the only people who lacked the forethought to 'catch the drift' were the people who made the decision to allow the future of the town to be placed in the hands other than our own.

In all honesty who came blame the Smoggies, there are examples that stick out like sore thumbs of what was to come, the general infrastructure in buildings and roads gave the first clue, Middlehaven Plans gave us another and the plans for a 'Proper Bus Station are likely to come to fruition in the near future.

If in any doubt about the future of The City of Middlebrough, take a look at the link below.... Hartlepool can only dream of such facilities.

At this moment in time, there are 4 further 3G football pitches under construction on this site..... how many are there at Brierton ?

The future is bright, the future is Boro.......

Only in Hartlepool and Only Under The LabTor Mob.

History was shouting out what the outcome was going to be, but it appears history is another country to them and so we're doomed again to suffer the failings of the past.
We were promised all this fairy tale nonsense back in 1974 when Cleveland was formed and the town stagnated for years. So either the example of Cleveland is something they were ignorant of, which  is inexcusable, or they're gullible suckers. Or is their some other reason they've dived into this with such unrestrained gusto. Let me guess.

Some of the Councillors seen it as a possible nice little earner but they are so thick they didn't realise Hartlepool would be 'frozen out'

It is much simpler than that. The extra allowances are the key. That is all they are interested in and if Hartlepool suffers  they won't be too upset whilst on one of the 4 a year Luxury Cruise-Ship jaunts. New Bungalow for mammy as well. Who said times were hard?

Past history would suggest to not realise where this was leading was political illiteracy of the first order. Sold down the river whilst cruising down the river.

I've never been able to find out what allowances are paid if any. All the indications are that it is 'expenses only'.
Diplomacy is the ability to tell someone to go to hell in such a way that they look forward to the trip.
