One of the saplings has been snapped off at the bottom of Church Street by some low life.
However, after venting anger at the perpetrators, we should be asking who thought it wise to plant small saplings in that area in the first place without protective guard around it and planting a slightly larger specimen would have given it more chance of survival.
Sorry , but livng in the real world, planting unprotected saplings there was asking for trouble. People can complain it shouldn't happen and it shouldn't, but life's just not like  that.

Second casualty, my eyesight. Drove up last night and the unique design of fancy lights that look anything but, are down one side of the street. They have the unique abilty to dazzle you when driving but cast the street into a strange shadow light on the pavement.
