Yes it's Pantomime Season again........

This is Tees Valley Unlimited Stephen Catchpole's comment after hearing that the Government had given the nod to the Tees Valley City Region

"Today's City Deal announcement rounds off a year of achievement. City Deal status will bring substantial investment to the area from various Government departments.

"It will lead to more pioneering and innovative schemes that will help drive the bold economic development ambitions of TVU, its partners and stakeholders."

Why do these people talk like they've swallowed a buzz-word dictionary?

A real Press Release would have read something like this:

"We at Tees Valley Unlimited would like to confirm our pleasure at the news that the Government has awarded the area City Status. The move will help secure our jobs at Tees Valley Unlimited for the foreseeable future, fund our not inconsiderable pension and private medical insurance arrangements while, at the same time, not make any undue demands on our golfing schedule.

It will enable us to continue organising pointless seminars and to attend even more pointless conferences without actually generating any new jobs that wouldn't have happened anyway if we weren't here.

We'd like to thank the Government for their on-going faith in Tees Valley Unlimited. Suckers!"
