Sorry to dwell on the Hospital issue but I felt that this was worth a mention, my appointment was 10.00am I arrived on time, met by very friendly staff at reception and then directed to see the specialist.

The department was busy and seating area quite full, having handed over my paperwork at the desk was asked to take a seat.

My name called, then given a plastic tag sent to xray, there again met with smiles having had the xrays taken, returned to department, again asked to take a seat my name was called and there met with the specialist.

Having been examined and everything fully explained I was ready to go home.

From going into Hospital and having all of the above done much to my relief and satisfaction I must add.

Taking all of 25 minutes.

Fantastic service from a fantastic Hospital with First Class Service 10/10.

If I'd been sent to North Tees or James Cook I would have still been on the bus.

I have recently had similar great service at our hospital.....

And the shameless feckers want to take it away from us

I have an appointment at James Cook on Friday, it will cost me a gallon of fuel, a few quid for the car park plus worst of all half a days wages.

If the appointment was in Hartlepool it would have just meant a late lunch.

I wonder what the total hidden cost is for everybody in Hartlepool that takes half a day or what ever to go see a doctor out of town ?
I don't believe it.

Lucky that you drive Stig........ i had a day case Op at James Cook some months ago, & if it wasnt for my pal taking me there & bringing me home again it would have cost me £72 in Taxi fares.
