CAB really makes it difficult to spot any redeeming features in his character. Here we have a good example of how solid are his principles. Post Milliband resignation and the announcement of a Labour Leadership contest, CAB was quick to declare his allegiance to the immediate front-runner, Andy Burnham.

....but as we all now know, things didn't go quite according to plan in the contest, wrong-footing CAB and putting him in the wrong camp. This might have been a problem for most people but not CAB - to him the solution was obvious and done without the blink of a botox drooping eye-lid.

We've heard several times over the last couple of years that CAB fancies his chances as MP. Absurd as that may sound, this is Hartlepool and who would bet against CAB on a Labour ticket in a General Election? Either way, there's no harm in being able to say that you supported whoever finally emerges as Leader - just in case - and forget about principles. Principles won't pay for the Veuve Clicquot

If Corbyn fails he could always resign-then refuse to accept his own  resignation!

You are a trier Stevel i'll give you that,Corbyn didn't get his 35 nominees till mid June, the screenshot you took was from May.So several thousand people were probably of the same mind, then again don't let the truth get in the way of a good story.

Come on Mr Pensionater, as I said on the 'weather c**k' thread, the drear leader was courting the attention of Chuka Umunna until it became evident he wasn't going to run. Then came the switch to Andy Burnham and ultimately to the 100/1 outsider (who is now the 1/3 favourite) JC.

To flim flam from Umunna to Corbyn (via Burnham) is utterly laughable.

But then so is funding a company co-founded by Angie Wilcox to the tune of a million quid.

Has the little fella jumped ship yet or is he going down with the captain?

Angie Wilcox?

Who is she?

The SCABs have never heard of the woman and there is no one in the Party of that name. An obvious smear....

Are you serious?  ;D ;D

There's no way a person can switch from rabid Blairite Burnham to rabid anti-Blairite Corbyn and still keep their own principles intact - unless, like CAB, you don't have any principles to start with and your next political decision is based on by how much how it will fill your own wallet.

"It is only right and proper that the people of Hartlepool are given the opportunity to indicate how they wish to be governed."

Cllr Christopher Akers-Belcher speaking on 22nd June, 2012, in favour of a referendum on scrapping the elected Mayoral system and replacing it with a committee system with himself as its Leader.

Match that with CAB's refusal to hold a referendum on joining a Combined Authority with its own elected Mayor..
