A MAN arrested as part of an investigation into alleged police corruption in Cleveland and the former Cleveland Police Authority has been bailed.

The 52-year-old was arrested on suspicion of fraud, corruption and money laundering and has been bailed until March.

He was arrested by Warwickshire Police at an address in Pembrokeshire, Wales, as part of Operation Sacristy.

He was held by officers attached to Operation Sacristy – a police inquiry into alleged corrupt activities in Cleveland police and the former Cleveland Police Authority.

A Warwickshire Police spokesman said several vehicles and two properties were also searched.

The arrest is the 10th so far as part of the operation.

One person has been released from police bail and eight more remain on police bail pending further inquiries.
