I'm told the good doctor has triumphed. I'm delighted if it's true. We need more intelligent people as councillors.
In other good news the UKIP wipeout has started. They've lost ALL of the 30 seats they were defending.
I'm delighted. Is it too early to crack open a small beer?

If that's the case let's hope he can start change from within - otherwise we have a real problem in Hartlepool >:(

You'd best crack it open now, because the way the results are going you might
as we'll celebrate restraining a Labour seat by 20+ votes.

the jury is out if mama scabs is celebrating I don't have much hope of him having any effect on the Kremlin other than bending over for cwissie n co. Let's see if he reads this forum and has the balls to take action.

The one good thing about this election is that finally there'll be someone there to explain big words and hard sums to the rest of them.
"He will be a great asset' ...what is he then. A bully, liar, fraudster, nodding donkey ?
I'm afraid he won't amount to anything unless he is prepared to stand up for the right to have his own opinion and vote accordingly.
We'll spend the next couple of months with our fingers crossed - we should know by then.
I am just waiting for the headline now where Labour make claims that we have an A&E doctor working in the town again (all be it, in the civic).
Will people be waiting in the corridor on a trolley for 4 hours when he holds his first "surgery".
On a more serious note, isn't HBC supposed to scrutinise health services, so isn't he a massive conflict of interest?

I got the impression that the councillor he replaces jumped ship because of the present set up - he has 2 years to decide if the job's what it's cracked up to be
Being a Doctor, he might be able to transplant new spines into the likes of Clarke, Lindridge, Thomas, Harrison et al........time will tell, but to be fair to the fella, he could well surprise us all...... even the SCABS & Co.
So no parking charges for the headland now ?

According to the agenda of the meeting, seasonal parking charges for the Headland were to be 'debated' alongside the Seaton Carew charges.
However the minutes show the it was decided not to introduce charges on the Headland.
Draw your own conclusions.

...and as they have one Labour Councillor at H&H, as long as he behaves himself, parking charges will be off the agenda, however ...
Let's not allow Labour to succeed in having wards fighting against each other. The answer is NOT to introduce parking charges on the Headland; the answer is to SCRAP them in Seaton.

So the process they used was approve the charges at a Neighbourhood Services prior to a Full Council Meeting just before Christmas then, as the minutes hadn't been produced, stop any discussion at the Full Council Meeting later that day, even though details were on both the HBC and Hartlepool Mail sites. Quickly approve them at the next Finance and Policy Meeting and enter a Trial Period thus preventing the need for consultation prior to their introduction, as the consultation will take place during the Trial Period - I may have missed some relevant steps, but that's the gist - simples
Unless we can come up with a very very strong case they won't be scrapped at Seaton and the same process as above will be used at H&H if the new councillor doesn't behave
By the way does anybody know which councillors are attending next weeks public meeting?

Well said.............what the parking charges in Seaton have done, is to alienate 3 or 4 thousand people who will probably vote for anyone but Labour on June 8th....... Great work by Mad Dog and her committee
Serious question, where are you supposed to park to attend the consultation meeting ?
Would be good to know who from HBC will attend the meeting.
I would put money on MD not being there.

She'll probably send a representative as all questions on the matter now have to go straight to Peter Devlin.
From the Councillor Profiles this the makeup of the Neighborhood Services committee -
Beck, P Member Labour Hart
A-Belcher, S Vice-Chair Labour Jesmond
Hunter, D Member Labour Burn Valley
James, M Chair Labour Manor House
Loynes, B Member Con Rural West
Robinson, J Member Labour Hart
Springer, G Member UKIP Jesmond
Though by now it wouldn't surprise me if Beck and SAB have both denied any involvement in said committee
What no Seaton or Headland councillor you may say - another committee not being formed as per the constitution - 1 Labour Councillor too many with an Independent / PHF missing - probably at work when they meet
The councillors in attendance will
probably be the Seaton ones
Quote from Gerek, 'The councillors in attendance will probably be the Seaton ones'...
Apart from Tom Hind who will no doubt hide !

Hardly, seen the results around the rest of the UK? Marxist lefties / Momentum members such as you may have infiltratrated local Labour groups just as you have done in Hartlepool, but this is all (thankfully) making Labour unelectable in all but a few parts of the country. :)

I'd buy another tray of cans following the mayoral result.

It's like H'angus all over again, they assemble for another coronation where the seagull of fate dive bombs them. Maybe the old man has realised it's the beginning of the end.
Looks as though hartlepool is not the only good doctor

Looks like they could be going for the clean cut, cute, socially presentable type candidates. As opposed to the sartorially crumpled political obsessive with bad breath
