I don't know whether I missed it, but according to the HBC Councillor list Jean Robinson is showing as an Independent.  Is she going to be a follower of Shane or is it a typo?

Answering my own question it looks as though she has jumped ship and Labour now stand at 9.  Looking at the agenda from last Tuesday's meeting, under political groups, she is not listed in any political party so she is an Independent - Labour kept that quiet

Whatever she considers herself to be, there should be questions asked a bout her capacity as a councillor.......If she isn't able to attend council meetings on a regular basis, should she still be picking up her £160 a week. ?

It's a very sad situation. I say this with sincerity and without going into specific details out of respect to her and her family.

She is unlikely even be fully aware she has left the Labour Party. Somehow or other (decide for yourselves how) she reportedly arrived at a decision to leave the Labour Party and informed the relevant people.

Coincidentally that decision increased the proportionality of chairs which were available to the Socialist Labour Party.

It's very sad and the way she's been used for others gain is awful.

Not so much Independent, more dependent surely.

Agreed sad in both respects.

Politics broken at local and national level.

Can she actually attend meetings? Because if not, does it matter what Party she's in ?
