The inability to grasp the nature of independents is not an exclusive Hartlepool phenomenon, then?

A politician is a politician. An independent politician is just as corrupt as a not-independent politician. Given the history of the IU Group are we to assume they have all had a  Damascene conversion  and no longer hold to their previous Party views?
And if so why is one of the IU a fully-paid-up member and elected official  of a National Political Party of the hard-right type?

It all a trick and why people fall for it is beyond me.
