In all seriousness, why are the grumbling classes in the Labour Party who never wanted Starmer in the first place to replace the unelectable but cuddly Jeremy kicking off.
Starmer is no showman, no rabble rouser or gobs***e tub thumper, he's just a back room political 'technician' who gets on with his job. While the mob within in the Party clamour for change because of local results, they should face the home truth staring them in the face. They are still reeling from the legacy of the blessed Jeremy which is still casting a long shadow over the Party and will continue to do so.
They need a period of recalibration and rebuilding, a bit of reflection and self analysis of what the people want, not the revolution of the campus knowall's, out of touch with reality.
It's time to get back to origins of the Party and forget the unelectable fantasies, a cool head is needed as well as a firm hand and it won't happen overnight. The Party of the working class has become the Party of the socialist middle classes and the naive graduate, there lays the road to oblivion.

The Party of the working class ,,,,

There is no working class theirin lies the problem. An alternative to the tories is needed but labour rants on about the working class, t'pit t'mill....open borders and Durham Miners ffs. They also all bend over and hold their ankles when anyone from a union comes within 20 meters of them.

If they don't like Tories policies re brand, re name, offer alternatives, not labour fantasies.
The Morons seemed to have gone but so have the normals.....

There'll always be a 'working class' but I prefer to  think of it as the 'common sense class', the people who just want to get on with their lives, get some enjoyment out of it and don't want a revolution.
When the basis of the Labour Party changed from being run by those who actually had worked before politics to those who never got their hands dirty unless their pen leaked during a Uni lecture, it was inevitable the theorists would take over from the practicalists. Result, a break away from the original concepts.
The Labour Party has a new constituency base and the 'common sense class' have no place in it.

My late father reckoned that anyone who worked for a living was 'working class'.

I work but I have no class so I am not working class.

Working Class conjures up an image of woodbines in a shithole bar and labour activists who have been on benefits since before I was born claiming they are working class.

Ditch the concept how about referring to people as

People....

Or in case of Hartlepool clowncillers ......unemployable sh**e.

I don't consider myself as being of any class, I look up to no one and equally look down on no one, but those who work are working class, nowt to do with woodbines and Labour, they're just a sign of times gone by that some deluded folk cling to.
I think the use of the word 'class' is archaic nowadays and has that aura of poverty about it, let's replace it with the word 'workforce'.
