Well what do you think Gemma  and myself saw as we made our way to Mill House today..... A group of Fizz jacketed bods standing in front of a sign on Raby Road being interviewed and having their photo taken. Could not make out too many faces as we passed but certainly Christopher Akers Belcher was right in the middle.... obviously celebrating their £430,000 windfall for housing development on the Raby Estate and the Hospital. . Still wondering what the mention of the 'hospital' refers to. Look out in the Mail for the article you never know it just might inform the people of Hartlepool where this money is actually going to be spent.

''you never know it just might inform the people of Hartlepool where this money is actually going to be spent.''

You can bet your mortgage on it (if you have one!)  that some of the money WILL NOT be spent on Raby Rd OR the hospital (whatever that means?) but spent on someone else's mortgage! ;)

When you look at it, you don't get much with £430,000 in housing terms, so what exactly will be getting for the money, especially over two sites. I'm sure there'll be a detailed breakdown of expenditure or does a random cheque arrive in the post saying spend this loose change as you fancy?

Hang about, maybe in their world of fluffy things, the No so magnificent seven live in a virtual world where the bonny  pictures they supply us with in bountiful profusion are real,  in their 'virtual world'.

Apparently Pools were so bad today and the manager so indifferent you would think they were deliberately trying to lose.

Now as a regular reader of this forum I do wonder if there is more to this than meets the eye.

Would it be easier to redevelop the land and repay Mr. Payday Loans if Pools go down?
Wasn't a Senior Councillor seen in the stand recently too.

From what I can gather 2 people own Pools and one has a very dodgy history involving serious criminals and appears to have done a bunk with the majority of the clubs cash and left them potless. The other is a fantasists. They have pocketed all Pools income (which is substantial) and mortgaged every piece of property (real and intellectual) that Pools own. They are now (through debt)owned by a Finance Company and the owner of that Company has  business interests with the son of the man she managed to install as Pools Manager. This new Pools manager has started a severe cost-cutting exercise where spending is reduced to the bare minimum. One example being Pools no longer train at a proper sports centre but just use an open field. Players have been sold and replaced by free loans or Conference Players. All the financial vultures/owners involved with Pools  have described themselves as 'Property Developers'. They know feck all about Football.  I would say it is an absolute cert they are running the club into the ground and welcome relegation so that the club goes bankrupt and they can realise the assets. The carrot that stops them taking the money right now is the ground. They so very desperately want it but have been blocked by the full Council. It would be no surprise to learn certain key Councillors are being  given retainers that the vultures expect them to repay by way of future planning decisions .

For some (unknown) reason :-\...well, to me, anyway (who's not a follower of football!) Pools have always been pretty dire...and somehow always managed to escape relegation...(someone correct me here if I'm wrong!).  I've seen my son's football team have more 'go' about them than Pools!  As I've said before..and I make no apologies for saying it again..I sincerely believe that Hartlepool is part of a 'bizarre' social experiment to see just how much 'sh**e...sorry, couldn't think of another word that sums it up...the 'residents' will put up with, even though this is a leisure activity!  The obvious, eventual outcome of Pools being relegated, once big money is being touted for property development, is that the land will be sold for houses, etc,...and certain people, councillors included, will benefit!  Pools will be playing on the Rec sometime soon...probably on a Sunday!

Be very interesting to see how this pans out. A lot of faith is being put in the ground being in council ownership, but times change. What if the councillors did sell the ground and blamed government cuts. I can't see how they could  justify its sale otherwise, because that would infuriate a lot of voters affected. If government cuts were to blame, it would be a political windfall for a Labour council and the ground sale cash in the bank.

Would they dare sell it before an election ?

Inspector Knacker

Not before. But afterwards it gives time for the toxic dust to settle and time to keep banging out the mantra of government cuts before the next elections, especially if the Tories win.
