The old one seemed to head off towards sedoparking (was this done by yourselves or a third party?)
Well I tried using another (actually several) different domains so we've ended up with quite a collection. I've put re-directs on to get everyone in the same place.
The site is still under attack - Thursday it had over 5 million hits - robots sending hits to the site from as far away as Brazil. However, hopefully we've managed to out fox the nasty persons behind all of this. (for 'nasty persons read F*!xx!** *!xxx!*
Anyway, we needed it back up for the elections; free speech and all that.

well done for getting the site up and running again, i heard a rumour from an insider at the kremlin that the councillor for a certain posh park in town who looks a bit like little lord fauntlroy had purchased the rights to the old name of this site and shut it down, is this correct?
If the site needs extra funds to operate put me down for a contribution.

How was the site brought down ?
The site was brought down by a DDOS (Distributed Denial Of Service) attack. Which was launched by a Botnet (lots of hacked or "Zombie" computers under the control of a single hacker). These computers can be anywhere in the world. We identified computers from the UK, Asia, Brazil, Indonesia, USA and Vietnam etc.
These Botnet's tend to run by organised crime groups and are hired out for sending Spam, launching DDOS attacks and other illegal activities.
Was it organised locally by our enemies ?
Not sure if speculation is a good idea at the moment, but these things do leave a money trail. We will be gathering all the information we have to pass on to the authorities.
SteveF is being very careful, however, the short list of suspects behind the attack is a very short one.
Lets hope the same scoundrels don't bring down the council website ?
