That would be Christopher Akers-Belcher, the past board member of Who Cares(NE) who quietly resigned when the Tribunal cases started and who lied to the council chamber when he told it that the Charity Commission had admitted to making a mistake by posting the wrong set of  Manor Residents accounts on its website.

It's also the same Christopher Akers-Belcher who keeps telling us how transparent and open the council is even though he has refused to respond to any e-mails or questions which have asked him to explain the above.

More recently, he also lied to the council about having ever been involved in a Tribunal himself after having been awarded around £70,000 as a result of a Tribunal pre-hearing agreement with HBC.

In the latest edition of Hartbeat, he classes that as part of his 'successful' career in HBC benefits section.
Diplomacy is the ability to tell someone to go to hell in such a way that they look forward to the trip.

Is that the same Christopher Akers Belcher that was at one point referred to by Cllr Simmons as "A Jumped Up Benefits Clerk" ??? ???

I certainly remember him lying to a Full Council Meeting about The Charity Commision Accounts, i also remember he was Involved in changing the towns constitution to enable "The Mob" to do away with Public Questions.

I don`t however understand his claim that he can`t see a link between the towns constitution & voluntary organisations, after all I believe he is employed by an organisation that receives funding from HBC.

You can fool some of the people some of the time... But you can`t fool all of the people all of the time.

I couldn't get to the meeting last night as I was engaged in a bit of meaningful socialism that actually makes a genuine impact on other people's lives. . . (AKA 'work').

Sounds like I missed the usual farce of Labour doing everything BUT what the electorate want them to do.

It just makes you genuinely sick. What would Aneurin Bevan make of the Akers-Belchers and Cranney?

Bevan, son of a coal miner, driving force of the NHS, establishes free heathcare for every citizen, arguably the greatest peice of social policy in modern western democracy.

Later he resigns on principle because the government introduce charges for glasses and false teeth.

A proper socialist.

Then there's this shower who genuinely believe that they represent Labour values.

I've said it before and i'll say it again, they're putting every single Labour councillors seat at risk as well as the MP's.

Come on Labour North.... do something.
