Title: COUNCIL LEADERS
Post by: the_exile on May 18, 2018, 03: PM
I attended an event this morning in Jarrow announcing the launch of the North East Fund basically 120 million of funds available to SME businesses and start ups to help them grow.

The first speaker was the leader of South Tyneside Council a very eloquent man who showed an understanding of business and the pressures upon local businesses. He also spoke of the work his team undertakes in actively encouraging businesses to look at South Tyneside as the benefits for the area are there for all to see............

Meanwhile in Hartlepool we through a function to celebrate replacing trees!!!!!!!

Ask yourself one simple question and all will be revealed, would you employ any of these people?

Hartlepool not a chance.

The leader at South Tyneside definately, mind you would probably have to prise him away from his current job!

A twist on a Groucho Marx comment... 'I would not join any club that would have them as a member'.

As a council tax payer I don't believe councillors should play any part whatsoever in the selection of Senior Officers......What qualifications do any of the LabTor Mob have, that would justify them being involved in the Employment of senior staff.......

We have in the past had a member of the selection committee, a councillor who would have difficulty in spelling 'Bob - Backwards'...... It would be a really good idea if the Peer Groups Review report was dusted off and re-read...only this time.... They should give serious considerations to the Recommendation therein.

Couldn't agree more. I'd love a list of their educational achievements and experience.
Is milk monitor a recognised qualification?

Seems like Newcastle will trump his dream.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-tyne-44196005

Plans to build Europe's biggest observation wheel on the banks of the River Tyne in Newcastle have been revealed.

Dubbed the "Whey Aye", the 140-metre structure would be taller than the London Eye and feature a LED screen.

It would offer 30-minute "flights" and could accommodate more than 800,000 visitors in its first year.

World Wheel Company said it would be submitting a planning application later this year.

At least Newcastle did not slyly insert the NIRAMAX Logo into their artist's impression.

Perhaps he could get his partner to make another bogus complaint against Newcastle Council and try to delay it until ours is built??

It will be interesting to see how the voting goes for the Chair of Neighbourhood Services, apart from the obvious Nepotism in the decision to oust Cllr Hunter which if rumours are to believed wasn't exactly unanimous......

The odds are that PHF and the Indies would support Dave Hunter and rightly so if he appears as a candidate.

The question is, how will the LabMob vote, will the vote be whipped if so, will any of them dare to defy The Dear Leader or will they collapse like a Redcar Deck Chair and Blindly raise their hands and continue to support the SCABAL. ?

The Hartlepool "vision" looks good, shiny new building our own bargain basement, 5-plane, pink arrows flying by on a daily basis, unicorns and possibly a matrix like horror spectacle of the town population looking like CAB c/w brown ill-fitting suits. Go big or go home he was heard to lisp. Council Leaders, not in a million years!

The issue was brought up by James Black who was quickly shot down by Cranney.  The Borough Solicitor then explained that as David Hunter's name was not on the list of nominees, for that position, a vote could not be taken - in other words it was sewn up well before it got to this meeting.

I could have sworn we live in a democratic society.....apparently not, well not under the LabMob anyway.

Basically they had a cosy chat amongst themselves and decided to ditch Cllr Dave Hunter in favour of the Boy in  Mans Body.  ::)

The predictions of change from within made by the £3 quid Corbynites have proven to be, as many of us suspected a load of B****x  :-X

Funny you should say that Fred - after last night's debacle I chanced upon a couple of Labour Activists.  They told me that plans were under way to replace the toxic element of the current Labour mob by deselecting them when they were up for re-election.  Now that obviously begs the question - how come MD stood in the Manor this time round?

But it got better - I was then told that Doc Pothole lives in Hartlepool during the week and returns to London at the weekend to bang a couple of shifts in, plus for all you non-believers out there he is not here to stand as the Town's MP.

So you you have it!!!!!!!

So who amongst the 'New Labour Pixies' will initiate this 'Deselection Policy' ?.

If the make up of the various committees is anything to go by, nothing has changed nor will it, the usual suspects are as firmly ensconced now as ever, the removal of Cllr Hunter as the Chair of Neighbourhood Services is a case in point......he was replaced by The Boy In A Mans Body  :P

The Pixies support for Doc Pothole has been consistent from the off...... Did they offer an explanation as to why his register of interests mention NT&H NHS Trust, as for popping down to Tooting to bang in a couple of shifts on a weekend, was the travel to Tooting mentioned by any chance, is the Doc allowed to claim expenses for that 'Regular Journey' ?

The MP claim rings hollow, the simple question of why would a possible candidate for a labour seat in London, suddenly up sticks and move 250 miles North to stand as a 'Local Councillor' which requires according to a Pixie a 500 miles round trip on a weekly basis. ?

Depends if the 'inactivists' list of toxic elements matches others opinion of who the toxic elements are.
As for Doc Pothole, if he's up here all week, where exactly is he ?

The longer Doc Pothole is here, the more you see Lurch as the night watchman till the next election. I can see no other feasible answer.

I recently sent off my £3 to rejoin the Labour party, I have it on good authority that my application was discussed at Friday evenings GC meeting.  Apparently I was 'blackballed' by a number of sitting Councillors, obviously I'm hurt by this rejection, however all is not lost, once Anth replies to my two emails I intend to appeal.

The only problem is I've been told SAB is Chair of the party appeals Committee.

If only they knew I have friends in high places at Labour North, who are happy to advise me.

Following on from this, I see the good doctor is in the mail (or at least on the website) today calling for an emergency meeting "after reports of rising crime and anti-social behaviour on a town estate including a stabbing". I believe this could apply to any estate in the town, apart maybe from the stabbing part. But give them time.

https://www.hartlepoolmail.co.uk/news/emergency-meeting-called-amid-rising-crime-concerns-on-hartlepool-estate-1-9174340

Not sure who the meeting is going to be with (nor when the photo was taken) as the mail website is a bit reticent about letting me read any articles these days - apparently I've exceeded my quota for this month.

I came across the article whilst trying to read another story about a new business opening in Park Road -

https://www.hartlepoolmail.co.uk/news/new-hartlepool-business-signs-up-to-armed-forces-covenant-1-9177160

I was particularly struck by the absence in the photograph of our forces champion, given the subject matter. Perhaps he was helping the good doctor over on the headland. I hear he spends a lot of time over there.

Last time I saw Barclay at the Headland he was blind drunk and staggering along Northgate towards The Globe. He weaved in-and-out of passing traffic to reach the front door of said establishment where he collided with the jamb and bounced back onto the pavement!

I have heard numerous, similar stories regarding said 'champion', but perhaps we are doing him an injustice. Perhaps he is in rehab in preparation for his stint as 'Ceremonial Mayor' (assuming that the suggestions on here have any substance). He certainly doesn't appear to spend much time in his Ward.
