One of the so-called higher labour councillors put this bull***t through my door.it has a vast range of goals.far to many to type out but on the back page it says building a future to be proud of.
there is 19 points of action, but 1 takes the biscuit, ill type this one out.

EQUALITY AND RESPECT.we intend to meet the finical challenges whilst protecting our workforce from discrimination bullying and unfair treatment, what a f***i*g laugh who wrote this ANGIE baby.

What I find bizarre about that (aside from the Angie thing you mention) is why is that a 'boast' which warrants a mention in a manifesto?

Treating your workforce properly is an absolute given an is enshrined in employment law. The state, the government and a multitude of connected agencies are there to ensure that happens.

To flag that up on a leaflet, the local Labour lot may as well say "We promise not to break the law regarding employment legislation', because that's what the statement they've made basically says.

Also, by "our workforce" I assume they mean the council's workforce? In which case i'd like to remind them that the councils workforce is ours, as in the people of Hartlepool's, not theirs.

Equality & Respect ?...... It is fairly common Knowledge within the Civic that certain Councillors have attempted to Bully & Pressurise some employees of HBC.... Is that the Kind of Respect they mean ?

That which you describe is a true Labour value.. whether you recignise that to be the case or not, these are the messages Labour should be talking about on the doorstep and im sure they will continue to do so upyo and beyond the next election

Arc, it's a human value, a norm, a belief that most decent people have.

It`s a "True Human Value" that most decent people live their lives by............... you don`t need to claim it as a Labour Party philosophy, because those words mean nothing to members of "The Mob" which happen to be running the town at the present time.

You need to give respect to gain it, you need to display equality to expect it in return, I am afraid that our present civic leaders don`t qualify on either premis.

Does "The Dear Leader" deserve respect for the way he led the call to deny members of the public the right to publicly question his leadership ?

Does "The Consort" deserve to be a champion of equality when he deserted working people who were not considered to be the "Equal" of the odious Ex Labour Cllr Wilcox ?

craig finton

does anyone have a scan of the item in question? - I'd love to read it - fiction is my favourite genre.

Until PHF stop using terms such as "the mob" or "the dear leader" they wont be taken seriously.. ive come to the conclusion PHF are all disgruntled ex Labour men

DRiddle

I'm a socialist. I'm disgruntled with the current group who profess to represent Labour. I suspect you're right and there are others in the PHF ranks like me. That's hardly a surprise is it? Arc, are you happy with the local Labour group in Hartlepool? Honestly, are you?

for fawkes sake

Is it any real surprise that this should be so; politics in Hartlepool is in a mess and this is down to labels and realities.

We have a local labour group which seems to have very little connection with the Labour Party and a local Tory Group which seems to have very little connection with The Conservative Party.

Not very long ago, we had the local labour group voting en bloc to condemn employers who pay less than the minimum wage. This included one Angela Wilcox who was happily paying her own staff less than the minimum wage and one Stephen Akers-Blecher who a) Had responsibility for making sure Manor Residents was being run properly and b) had his own unique view on employment law at Rossmere.

We also have a Tory Group who vote to support public funding of trade unions yet fail to support local villages facing a traveller site being dumped on their doorstep while at he same time, maintaining a virtual 100% support for labour in the council chamber in return for a disproportionate degree of influence on the Planning Committee.

Local socialists clinging to the party whip are the most confused of all finding themselves, as they do, supporting sheep-like something which is essentially corrupt.

It's no wonder people are confused.

No David its not a surprise at all.. this all stems from the changing of the mayoral system.. that is now in the past and people have to move on.. if it was me who was angry then i would set about change by joining the party.. you know my reasons why i could not join PHF.. politics is all about timing and when the time is right i may step into the breach.. but my time is not now, your time maybe now though

for fawkes sake

Yes, join the party, take the party whip and sit in the corner with your mouth shut along with the other sheep. Isn't that how it works?

It infuriates the fatties greatly. They have an inflated opinion of their  importance and they hate how powerless they are to silence the critics. Given the measures 'they' have taken to try and silence the site then clearly  it is  hitting home.
A perfect example is the parade planned so they  fat boys could  preen themselves whilst waving at the serfs. The very idea that  anyone would dare sully this occasion with criticism was enough to send the pair waddling running for the hills.
Ridicule has its place and it results in a bunker mentality.
Downfall anyone?

The fact the faithful bring this up so often is proof positive it works.
