Take a drive around there opposite Thornville Road there's a caravan parked outside some nice properties occupied by decent respectable families.

Only trouble is the one with the caravan outside is rented and yes you've guessed it by low life scum, they are stripping the caravan of all aluminium for scrap metal.

Words cannot express just what state it is now in and yet another in Cornwall Street featured a full page in the Mail along with a local councillor wanting it removed.

Do yourself a favour just go and take a look maybe someone can put a photograph on here of it?

Is it only low life scum who rent?.

One of the residents went to the Civic Centre today to make a complaint about this caravan. On arrival at reception a phone call was made to five departments within the centre.

Only to be informed:

H.B.C. could do nothing about it 'but' someone from Highways Department would make a visit to see if it was causing a traffic hazard.

Returned back home a waste of a morning. Very Disappointed & Extremely Angry.

If its been stripped for scrap metal, then the caravan should be deemed as a hazard as, if its being dismantaled there will be sharp corners, or edges that could potentially cause a hazard to a pedestrian walking past it, not to mention the obvious fire hazard if vandals decide to drop a match in it.

As for the rent side of things, this seems to be a typical Hartlepool thing where Hartlepool Council seems to take a softly softly approach to rogue landlords and tenants that destroy the peaceful way of life for other people.

They allow scum to move into properties without proper vetting, the so called Good Tenants Card Scheme has been an absolute failure from start to finish, and the council seem to be adopting the attitude of allowing the scum to move into the decent areas hoping the goodness of other residents might rub off on them.

You will make complaint after complaint and Hartlepool Council will cover their ears going lalalalalala because you are telling them what they dont want to hear (The Truth).

I would inform the police though and see if someone from Traffic can inspect the caravan because ime almost sure that if its in the process of being dismantaled, it would be deemed unfit for the road and can be towed away by the police.

Went past this morning the caravan lagging & rubbish was all over the street it now has no sides to it the roof is still on all the scrap metal has been removed. It's now just waiting for a match and then it will be gone.

As for the scum who live there this is an old well tried ploy you stick one of these low life in a rented house and wait till the neighbours have had enough then buy it from them at a much lower price.
