Just been for a walk along the front on the headland. The lower prom from the Heugh breakwater to the Fish Sands is under water and north of the breakwater the seas are about 20ft high. I was told by workers at Hereema that the road out was closed at Throston bridge and traffic was being diverted through the docks. There is also a danger that the dpcks and marina will flood.

Large sections of the Middlehaven are of Middlesbrough (near the Riverside Stadium and the college) are under water. The biggest tidal surge in the river Tees for about 60 years has caused chaos. The car park around the transporter bridge area is under a few feet of water.

I passed at 3 and the place was swarming with Police and council vans.

Tees Road was closed between the Fire Staion and the Petrol Farm as well.
