Hartlepool on the BBC 6pm news again tonight

Lucy Lass-Tick

Missed it but it'll soon be available on the IPlayer - usually uploaded within the hour and is available for 24 hours.

I watched two items about Hartlepool on BBC tonight.  The 6pm news showed very starkly how the government drive to introduce Universal Credit has pushed people into poverty.  The financial impact of austerity homes in Hartlepool was approximately £300 higher than average across the country.  Powerful piece of reporting.
Then Look North featured Hartlepool and how a local business man and his staff have forfeited a staff party to aid some of the homeless around the town.  Well done Mr. Griffiths (Build a Spa) and the Douglas Hotel for helping the homeless this Christmas.  Heartwarming gesture to help provide some comfort to those struggling in Hartlepool.

We appear to be a roll over and take it town.

Gold medals for the boys should have had them and the complacent vicar/exec driven out of town.
