The flyer popped through the letterbox and the following sentence caught my eye.

'This initiative is being funded by the ward members budgets of CouncillorsKaylee Sirs, Kevin Cranneysaurus and Christopher Akers-Belcher and in partnership with The Thirteen Group'.
Now where do we start?
Well for one thing, despite the trumpet fanfare proclaiming your unbridled generosity, it's not your budget, it's our money, you're giving us nothing. If you'd put your hands in your own pocket and paid for this then I"d applaud you. But it's just our money being redirected back to us and you play the role of Lady Bountiful. I'd be even more impressed if you declined to publicise your role in this gesture, but that would defeat the purpose no doubt.

Ward budgets, the political equivalent letting people treat you to a round of drinks with your money and expecting praise for their act of generosity.

Are Thirteen collecting it or contributing to the cost?
Are the figures for these acts of generosity with our money published?

so called "ward budgets" half the time they are not spent on the ward to which they are allocated
and to be fair they are only a carrot on a stick for the electorate
A councillor is an elected representative of their ward, not their political party!
Councils need communities but communities don't need councils
Party politics have no place in local goverment

Quite a few Labour Councillors contribute part of their Ward Budgets to Rifty House - when they do that they should really be informing their own ward members

Should the 11 'councillors' be called Stepford councillors ? Compliant, obedient, deferential and ever eager to please.
