There can be no more solid confirmation that HBC's 3 Tory Councillors are in coalition with the Labour Group than the council's Spin Merchants handling your press releases. RMW is Chair of the Audit and Governance Committee, the committee which is supposed to scrutinise the decisions made by the ruling group.

Allocation of Chairs of Committees is meant to be proportional though UKIP, with twice the number of seats as the Tories, were given no Committee Chairs.

It's a cosy arrangement. Wells has rendered the scrutiny function completely impotent and in return gets all three Tory Councillors a seat on the 11 seat Planning Committee - useful for anyone describing themselves as a 'property developer' - though just whose properties has never been entirely clear.
